Caro's Book of Poker Tells > this new edition of Mike Caro's classic book looks at and analyses the physical giveaways by players on their hands. Containing suitable photos, Caro explains when players are bluffing or not. This hefty book is a poker classic, and discusses and analyses in great depth the art of poker psychology and body language. The information is broken down in to an easy to follow format, with each tell broken down in to a number of topics, including why someone does it, what type of behaviour is shown and whether it is involuntary or not. The descriptions are accompanied by photographs to help you understand what is happening. Furthermore Caro discusses the reliability of each tell.

Unfortunately this book only targets live play and not online, as there are tells you can pick up from betting patterns and the time it takes players to make decisions. However, it does make fascinating reading, and may encourage you to try live play if you haven’t already by demonstrating this added element to playing poker. Of course, it doesn’t only help you notice other players behaviour, it also helps make you aware of your own behaviour and actions, and you can be sure that a fair few of your opponents will have read this book, and are watching your every move!

Even though this book has been around for a long time, and poker has evolved, these insights are still as relevant as ever. Whilst this book has been updated slightly over time, owners of previous versions need not update.
